ESL & AoE3 - once again united

Hi guys!

I guess most of you have already seen the news on AgeSanctuary but nonetheless I will give you some basic information here at the RTS-L forum too (with the ok of matt of course^^).

First of all the ESL is probably the biggest esport site out there which features a vast amount of popular games like WC3 TFT, CS 1.6, Fifa etc. For example the ESL Pro Series finals are a huge event with many prizes and the whole media report on this. Now you will probably ask what this has to do with AoE3. That's quite easy: If the AoE3 community is active in the ESL it will sooner or later get attention which could mean prizes, more players joining the game, coverage etc. You see that it's quite important for the game itself.

Furthermore the ladder system is pretty unique for AoE3, you can challenge opponents as you want to and you don't have to follow strict playing schedules. For the start there will be a clanwar ladder with a setup of 2x 1on1 + 2x 2on2 + 1x 3on3. The maps for each game will be determined by the ESL and then every clan has to seed their players (hidden for the opponent). As the head admin said it today, clans from all over the world are allowed to participate. You just need 4 players for a team and you can start (see rules for more detailed information).

In my opinion it's a great chance for the community and I hope many clans will sign up to get it going.

See you there smile
