DoD Outlasts Everyone in AoT Season 22!

The 22nd edition of RTS League's Age of Mythology: The Titans Clan League faced many hurdles and bumps along the way, showing us all points for improvement and further enhancement on the player experience, but nonetheless, here we finally are at the finishing line - and who proved to be the most resilient and successful in coping with all the opposition thrown their way?

Right on the start of the season the defending Champions Mighty Genaration looked to be strong competitors for the Title again, and they sure did not disappoint - we saw them win their division in comfortable manner, even though Players Killers were a clan looking for their chance. Unfortunately for them they couldn't keep one of their key players in check and that opened a free path to no1 seed for mG.

Playoffs faced the Champs with their last opponents from Season 21 and their personal nemesis, Tsunami Clan, who were again looking to secure a banner position. TSM's very good group stage record placed them in a nice position to see their plans through, but apparently mG remembered the strats well and put the Silver clan into the Bronze banner match this time around.

The other half of the elimination bracket contained three very interesting clans, promising fun fights along the way. But due to a series of unfortunate events beyond anyone's control, PKs were forced to relinquish their position in the competition, and thus we were left with "just" the two teams always fighting for the top spots in RTS League.

Muppets, the winners of Division 2, were hot favourites for the Finals as in the last round match in the group stage, they overcame their Semifinal opponents from Deities of Death 2:0. But underestimating the thirst for success in the multiple-times RTS League Champions would be a grave mistake, they found a way to prepare for their all-important match again and secure the second place in the Finals with equally strong performance - 2:0.

The last fight of the season promised to be something great with two of the oldest AoT clans still around, but summer heat and other game events took its toll on the last season's Champions mG and effectively left us to wonder who would win in a square fight between mG and DoD. Nonetheless, even perseverance and dedication are traits worth rewarding, and thus the Champions of RTS League's Age of Mythology: The Titans Clan League, Season 22 are:

The Finalists:

The Bronze banner match was a fun clash of top players in which we could see some interesting experimental strats by MpT against Zeus-strong TSM. In the end they proved just that, experimental, but provided for some novelties to the standards, and it's good to see clans trying to surprise their opponents with specific ideas - that's what team games are all about, as you have more than enough place and time there for this kind of thinking. The Third place then goes to Tsunami Clan:

Download recorded games: Mediterranean, Tundra

In the League Cup teams that haven't reached Playoffs have a chance for redemption, to show they are skilled and worthy of an award, and this season we again saw some nice extra fights. The team that overshadowed all the competition, already proven strong in the group stage by stealing a game from the Finalists mG, was Gladiadores del Mythology:

And here comes the ceremony for the most fair clan of all, the clan that showed the best scheduling efforts and respect towards their opponents during games and beyond, the Fair Play Award winners - we hope everyone will strive to follow the high standards the top finishers from Tsunami Clan showed this season, and try hard to be even better, nicer to their opponents:

TSM 9.4
MpT|B 8.8
vK 8.8
DoD|B 8.7
TBL 8.1
GDM 8.0
mG 7.6
DoD 7.4
PK 7.0
TCL 6.9
MpT 6.8
PK|B 6.4

And now that all the awards have their owners and a new set is in the making, let us, the staffers here at RTS League, say good job everyone, congrats to the awarded clans and thanks yet again to all the players who took part!

We're looking forward to seeing you and any new clans in the next edition of RTS League with numerous enhancements coming soon.
