RTS-League: Clan Leagues for Strategy Gamers

Spring is just around the corner (for most of us ), flowers are starting to bloom, and so is the AoT community with the many exciting tournaments hosted as of late. We're really in a curious time Age of Mythology has not known for many years, and with more tournaments down the road, it's going to be interesting which event will be the true highlight of this first half of the year - we definitely hope it's going to be RTS League's Age of Mythology: The Titans Clan League!

We're again ready to host the best of the best (but also the rest ) and see which clan deserves the honours of being called the Best Clan in the whole of AoT, and this time it promises to be a quite intriguing story, as Season 25 saw two new faces in the Grand Finals, ousting the former powerhouses out of their "Sheldon's Spots" :d Can clans like Deities of Death or 2k for jesus regain their fame? Are AbsoLads going to defend their Title? Or is someone else going to surprise us entirely? Follow the prestigious RTS League clan wars and find out

News for Season 26

1) You're undoubtedly wondering by now what's up with the expansion Tale of the Dragon. After careful deliberation and weighing all the pros and cons, we have decided that the best course of action at this stage is to continue using Voobly and play on the original Age of Mythology: The Titans.

Even though we would love to enrich the experience with the new civilisation, the present state and cons of the Steam version by far outweigh the pros, and seeing our strong position in the community and high standards we adhere to, we cannot justify running a respectable clan competition on the expansion yet.

However, we are hoping the situation will improve in the coming months, and we are already preparing plans for a summer event that would be hosted on Tale of the Dragon, provided the game is in a proper state, so you have something great to look forward to

2) For other novelties, we don't have anything specific yet, but with the next version of the Voobly Balance Patch being prepared, we will be ready to implement it as soon as it's sufficiently tested. It may be with the start of the season in a couple of weeks, or it may be for the Playoffs like last season, we'll see how things go.

We are also looking into the possibilities of adding some new maps, seeing the great success new map additions had in the Playoffs, possibly even from the expansion, so if we deem some map scripts to be suitable for competitive play, we will add them to the available map pool. Feel free to let us know about maps you think could be a good addition

Now back to the sign-ups!

To take part in Season 26 and have a chance at the fun (and the Banners ), your clan will need to fit a few conditions to ensure you would be a positive contribution to the League.

First you will need a Clan Operator - the guy/gal representing you in the competition, scheduling your matches with the opponents and communicating with League staffers on your behalf. This person should be reliable, responsible and available regularly, every day if at all possible. Proper and timely communication is the key here. You can, of course, have more than 1 Clan Operator to cover for each other

Then you must have at least 6 active players ready to participate - this is to ensure you are able to complete your matches regularly even if some of your heroes happen to be temporarily unavailable.

Further you need to be familiar with the League rules. Read them carefully, and pay attention to the novelties for Season 26 posted above as well.

Lastly, during seasons, we unfortunately also uncover foul play and need to take proper action, so here are the administrative decisions active for Season 26 you need to be aware of:

- Player "reDo" is banned for life for multiple serious cases of malicious smurfing. Any clan found to be actively using him in League games will be subject to severe penalties or immediate disqualification. Be sure to know who is playing for you.

And when you've checked all these points and you're ready to join, then again make sure that your clan meets the criteria listed above and within the rules and simply post the following sign-up form. Returning clans need just to confirm the participation (and read the novelties and active admin decisions as well, of course).

B(C, etc.)-teams need to supply their complete roster as well to allow us to gauge their strength so that we know where to seed them. Please also pay special attention to the guidelines on Guest Players found in Rule 4.

Please sign up your clan only if you seriously want to take part in the League, do not sign up inactive clans or clans with too few players to actually meaningfully compete. Clans that drop out during the season will be excluded from the next one/s.

Sign-ups will be closed on Friday 1st April, Season 26 will start the following week.
