RTS League is the prominent 10-years-in-running competition focusing on teamplay in the real-time strategy games genre. We have hosted leagues in various titles, including Age of Empires II - The Conquerors, our most successful competition with its 26th season under way, and games like Command & Conquer 3, Empire Earth or Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. RTS League's aim is to provide quality opportunity to test your clan's skills and have fun while playing the game you love, all in a friendly setting moderated by dedicated staffers who understand the ins and outs of their games and who are ready to help whenever and wherever they can.
With RTS League's expansion plans to new games, we have chosen Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising and StarCraft II - Wings of Liberty as games worth pursuing, and to that end, we are looking to gauge the communities' interest.
RTSL's continuous leagues are based on an easy-to-grasp system - following signups, clans are separated according to their estimated skill level into balanced division, in which they play each other in a series of one-week rounds. Each match consists of two games with the default setting being 3v3, an option best promoting teamplay skills and showing the true team spirit of every clan. After the group stage, standard BO3 playoff decides the top clans of the season.
Because RTS League is a non-profit organisation ran by volunteers, our sole aim is to provide players with a rewarding tournament experience which brings both fun and pride to the clans successful in our league battles. And while we enroll some of the top players of the RTS genre, the response from our community indicates no more is necessary.
The cooperation with RTS-Sanctuary assures the visibility of all our games, as, among others, dedicated RTSL Replays forums offer a great place to share and discuss league games with all the community. We are also looking into the options of match streaming and VODs.
We are now interested in the respective Dawn of War II and StarCraft II communities' input, and to that end, we would like you, the players (and especially clan leaders), to share your thoughts about these new leagues. The more input we have, the better the competitions will be!
