DoD Owns AoT Season 16

The title says it all - almost, as there was another clan assisting Deities of Death in their domination over the League, and that was clan Mighty Genaration - those two teams managed to get hold of all the top 4 places in Age of Mythology - The Titans Clan League, which is quite impressive a feat!

However, DoD's teams proved to be superior on both fronts, their A team beating mG's A squad in the semifinals as well as the B team overpowering their mG B team contenders at the same stage, and so we were faced with a very unique situation - finals with one clan and the bronze medal battle with the other.

If anyone thought these games would be a piece of cake for the top teams - they sure were not! The finals games both brought some nice fighting - on Anatolia, Bs took to an early fight on the water which they quite easily managed to win and even further on the game looked to be going quite well for them. However, the experienced As were hatching a sinister plan to take victory at all costs - they even did not shy away from bringing down the ultimate fate upon all their subjects, the end of the world as we know it - in the Norse mythology, there is a special word for this - Ragnarök. And it meant just that for the ambitious Bs.

On the new, unexplored world arisen from the depths of the cleansing waters, As were punished for their insolence and one of their TCs ended up being separated from their main island - Bs saw the opportunity and went for it with all their heart, but unfortunately forgot to secure the crucial water routes first - they fought well and good, but to be even a few steps behind opponents with such skill is going to make any reclaiming quest a touch difficult - and it proved to be far beyond that, because even miracles performed by their citizens in constructing wondrous structures and uncovering the terrible adversaries to the gods themselves - the Titans - could not save them in the end.

RTS League is proud to announce the Champions of the 16th season of Age of Mythology - The Titans Clan League:

For the remaining banner, a Mighty fine tackle took place - the clan war amongst the mG heroes needed all three games to decide which team will be designated "A" in the next season.

Oasis map did not really stand up to its name and no serenity awaited any of the clashing warlords. As decided to take the fate into their own hands and invaded enemy territory on all fronts - each member taking care of his opposite foe. The battles were quite equal for a time, but when the top mGs teamed up to harass a B's player together, their combination and sheer numbers of units quickly ended any hopes of victory for the B team.

The wet Marshlands brought about an altogether different kind of fun - an epic contest spanning ages. A team began the game by hoarding treasures of all kinds, but their treasurer could not withstand the pressure of the marauding hordes and came to the brink of destruction itself - without a tc, he had only several serfs left. Despite that, his team orchestrated a marvelous comeback and pushed the B team back and after some time, it even looked as if they were going in for the kill. Well, not this time - Bs showed a good deal of perseverance and with all their strengths stopped the attackers in their tracks and a long fight in the trenches ensued. In time, B team started ever so slowly gaining advantage and near the end, the amazing Titans showed their might in full swing and wreaked havoc all about the enemy bases. When even they began to fall, Bs had finally enough advantage on the battlefield that they could claim victory and a right to the third, deciding game.

Random map selection chose Highlands and, as a welcome bonus, also added quite a nasty bug half of the players were definitely feeling very happy about - As got handicapped by having one TC less. The top team now knew they cannot hesitate and must act - the experience coming with their stature commanded one action, and one action only - attack! A strong double followed, denting B's defenses so deep they had to, in time, relinquish quite some territory to the agressively advancing enemy. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, maybe surprisingly to some, a truly deciding clash of the game was brewing. A classic 1v1 fighting began with a bold B's move right into the heart of enemy army camp, which seemed to be going well, but soon showed A was really just waiting for the fun to begin - the response was quite decisive and swift and it was B's time again to start giving away yet another land. Back where the hills were short on settlements, they at least housed the resting places of the ancient Titans and As knew their location very well. In spite of B's heroic efforts in warding off the horrid giants, their whole game was, unfortunately, too far beyond reaching for it to be saved at that point - A's determined approach already yielded them a victory and a right to bring home the bronze banner:
